A bit late again but I’m committed to doing this, and to get back on track to posting in the same month starting with Junes book!
In May I decided to stay in keeping with the western theme, and honor my annual trip out to Wyoming. So I read The Last Kind Word Saloon by Larry McMurty (who wrote Lonesome Dove.) This was the perfect plane/ light reading book. Only a hundred or so pages and read like poetry. He was able to string all of the little anecdotes and tall tales about Doc Holiday and the Erps into a story that unfolds like a lazy day out west. Filled with a wide array of great characters each with their own little vignettes that somehow or another tie back into Doc and Wyatt.
I’d recommend it as a great lazy summer reading book. And for your viewing pleasure…here’s a picture of where I just was out west. Complete with wildlife, right outside the back door.
